Adriatic-reception

The purpose of the project was to create a new attic, expand the canopy, and change the facade wall on part of the current reception and bar of the Grand Hotel Adriatic in order to better organize and function the interior space, unify the facade, and the overall appearance of the Grand Hotel Adriatic complex. The access road, reception, lobby, and hotel bar are organized in a way that allows easier pedestrian access to the building and, with a new interior layout, increase the functionality of the hotel itself.
The geometry of the canopy structure follows the flat shape of the former canopy. The construction of the new attic unifies the once broken shape of the building and creates a single clean line that encompasses the building. Various jumps on the roof disappear and a single flat, extensive roof is created. Skylights are created on certain parts of the new roof. The change of the facade and the construction of the new attic create a uniform view of the central part of the Grand Hotel Adriatic complex, connecting the old and new parts of the complex with moderate shapes and lines.
