Vila Alma
Gentle slopes, rows of vineyards and views towards the sea define the landscape in which Vila Alma is set.
Closed with solid walls towards the access, yet fully open towards the vineyard and Mediterranean landscape, separated only by glass.
The element of the flat slab is repeated in the design — white horizontal planes between which a glass envelope acts as protection from the elements, remaining open most of the time to allow the interior and exterior to merge, without a clear boundary between inside and outside. This principle is present both at the upper and lower limits of the house — towards the ground and the sky — as well as in the transition of levels, through steps and the pool terrace.
Stone paving leads to a solid wall that contains the main entrance. Passing through it, a completely contrasting space unfolds — the living area in the foreground, with the Mediterranean landscape as a backdrop.
The interior spaces are fully open towards the landscape on one side, while towards the road they remain enclosed by a solid wall, punctured by a glass opening at one end and complemented by an internal atrium at the other.
The minimalism of the exterior, achieved through smooth white floor and roof planes and glass surfaces, is in places interrupted by stone that continues into the interior.
A classic spatial organization, with living areas on the ground floor and bedrooms and a library above, is complemented by an outdoor covered living area with a kitchen and dining space, connected to the terraced pool deck.
Natural materials in the interior are more subdued in the resting areas, while more pronounced in the living spaces.
In the exterior spaces — terraces and garden, shaped by Mediterranean vegetation and stone paving — the elements of the surrounding landscape are reflected.
