Hotel Bevanda

The function of the building, the initial program requirements, the context in which it is located, and the guidelines for preserving the original structure resulted in a reconstruction project that, through a light, transparent and unobtrusive design of the added volume, seeks to preserve and emphasize the original value of the ground-floor pavilion.

The original part of the building has been refined to its initial form, respecting conservation guidelines. The scale of the extension and the internal spatial organization follow the layout and form of the original volume. Designed in the language of contemporary architecture, the extension allows the pavilion to retain its original expression.

The terrace is designed as a light and discreet structure, whose consistent canopy rhythm does not disturb the original visual identity. Circular perforations in the upper slab allow additional natural light to reach the ground-floor façade. The terrace façade is enclosed with movable and foldable transparent glass elements with minimal profiles, adapted to the reconstruction of historicist buildings.

The roof is flat, covered with extensive greenery and complemented by roof panels that define sub-roof spaces.

The ground floor accommodates the hotel kitchen, service area and dining space, as well as the hotel entrance lobby with reception. The added volume contains the hotel accommodation units.
